Tennis Drivel – Roger, Thanasi, Feliciano and Genie
Feliciano Lopez loves sipping the Federer kool aid, and he didn’t hide his love for the maestro yet again when asked about the strange situation that ATP has been going through lately. “It is very weird, he said, Djokovic is not as he was, Murray’s injury has taken him away, Nadal is recovering … The only one that surprises is Federer. The circuit is very open this year.” He further said; “Federer breaks molds on all levels! Honestly, I had no doubt that after being so long stopped was going to play at a good level because he has not forgotten how to play.” He continues with his long drawn praise of Federer and added: “In addition, he is very intelligent in the way to manage his body, to prepare himself, the small changes that he has introduced in his game and in the racket. Apart from the talent he has, without doubt the best in history, he knows how to manage his career very well.”
Well Feliciano, we are with you on that one and when it comes to Federer. Someone with so much talent should not be underestimated —- EVER.
Eugenie Bouchard is the talk of the tennis world after beating Sharapova. She was not only brave enough to speak openly about Sharapova’s doping and how Maria should be banned from tennis but also played fearless tennis to beat Sharapova on court. After winning her match against Maria she expressed how badly she wanted to win the match. “I wanted to do it for myself, but also all these people,” she said. “I really felt support.”
Whatever it takes for you to start playing some winning tennis again. You did good Genie.
Like Feliciano even Thanasi Kokkinakis seemed more than ready to praise Roger, and when asked what he liked most about Federer, he said – “He’s always working on his game, on different things he can improve. Trying shots where maybe other tennis player wouldn’t try …….”
We here believe that most, if not all, tennis professionals are always working on improving their game; and trying unusual shots, dear Thanasi, is a direct outcome of Roger’s exceptional talent, and has little to do with how hard he works at improving his game.
