Nick Kyrgios – the village idiot – dazzles at the U S Open Series with his frivolous antics. He even baited Novak Djokovic by scratching Novak’s name off a fan’s shirt.
Kyrgios is honing his tennis by – being the village idiot – playing doubles in the U S Open Series. After losing his first round in Atlanta last week, he will partner Tsitsipas in Washington DC this week.
He charmed many with his nonsensical antics and unbelievable talent which he wastes without reservations. Here’s Nick entertaining and pulling out a tweener effortlessly during Kids’ Day at the Citi Open.
Kyrgios, contrary to the general belief, doesn’t dislike all, he is friends with many on the tour. His jibe at Murray, while signing autographs in Washington DC, confirmed a warm relationship between the two.
We believe Nick’s envy stems from his favorable head-to-head record against Novak Djokovic. Kyrgios cannot understand how Djokovic, with a negative head-to-head against him, can win so many slams. Nick Kyrgios believes he is better, and therefore deserves more than Djokovic.
Kyrgios doesn’t miss an opportunity to bait Djokovic and even scratched Novak’s name off a fan’s shirt in Atlanta. Novak is no Roger in the likeability quotient, but the level of disdain shown by Nick seems strange.
Nick Kyrgios – the village idiot – is guilty of the same oversight as Rafa’s fans. They believe Nadal is the GOAT because of a better head-to-head record against Roger Federer.
Tennis; however, is a game of match-ups, but played against the field. If Roger was the only opponent Nadal ever faced then, without a doubt, Nadal is the GOAT. But a slam winner must get past seven opponents, drawn from a field of 128 players.
Based on the head-to-head record, Roddick, with a 5-4 record against Djokovic, should have 16, or more, slams.
We believe Nick Kyrgios is an exasperating dimwit but makes tennis interesting.
