John Isner Conquers Atlanta: Isner comes from a set down to beat Ryan Harrison at the BB&T.
John Isner beat Ryan Harrison 5-7, 6-3, 6-4 to win the BB&T Atlanta Open for the fifth time in nine appearances.
Isner seems comfortable at the Atlanta event.
With his fifth title, John Isner is 31-4 at this event. He won three-straight titles from 2013-15 and was the winner over Ryan Harrison in 2017 too. He, however, lost the final to Nick Kyrgios in 2016.
“I’m very comfortable here, I make breakfast in my own room, I go to the Publix next door, it really feels like I’m at home, and that helps so much,” said Isner.
2018 has been good for John Isner so far.
John Isner won the Miami Open earlier this year and now has 14 tour titles to his credit. At 33 years this 6’10” American seems to be coming into his own. He had his best showing ever at a slam in Wimbledon just two weeks ago, where he made the semi-finals and lost to Kevin Anderson in a close 24-26 fifth set encounter which lasted 6 hours and 36 minutes.
With his title win at Atlanta, John Isner improved 8-3 against Ryan Harrison.
