Stan Wawrinka’s forehand was as devastating as his backhand against Grigor Dimitrov
Stan Wawrinka can generate tremendous and unstoppable pace on his ground-shots. His powerful groundies were at full display in the third round match against, the talented Bulgarian, Grigor Dimitrov.
Stan Wawrinka’s forehand is as powerful as his backhand.
Wawrinka’s shot-making is equally devastating from both wings, but appears a little more fearsome off the backhand wing, only because not many, if any at all, can generate the pace and sheer velocity, that he can, from the generally weaker backhand wing.
The rockets launched by Stan Wawrinka’s forehand were just as devastating as his backhand during the third round encounter with Grigor Dimitrov. Wawrinka won 7-6(5), 7-6(4), 7-6(8) in three closely fought and thrilling tie-breaks, and moved into the fourth round at the 2019 French Open.
